Welcome to your forum!
This forum is for all members of the Colorado Plateau Chapter of the Society for Conservation Biology. It is an effort to form an accessible on-line community in hopes that it will help chapter members stay connected with one another.
If you would like to join our discussions and other threads like those devoted to issues on the plateau, it is very simple. Click on the Registration button in the tool bar toward the upper part of the forum homepage. Once there, enter a valid e-mail address (that will be kept completely private) the name you will want to be known as and click the register button. A randomly generated password will be sent to your e-mail shortly. Occasionally, depending on the server you use, it may take longer (possibly an hour or two ), but if it does not arrive contact the forum admin (cmc75@dana.ucc.nau.edu) and I will send you a password, which you can change later.
Once registered you can customize your membership in many different ways including the ability to post a picture in your profile of whatever you want to help bring character to your postings. The picture must have a web address associated with it and the best way to acquire this address is to right click on the picture and look in the properties section. Highlight and copy that address and go to the Profile section of the toolbar. There is a part of the profile that says I have my own pic, check the box next to this and paste the image address. There are many other custom features on this forum, and all the different buttons in the posting section do something unique. Play around with it and try it all out, you'll find something new every time.
A few important rules:
Please show respect and kindness...This is the most important rule and disrespect or personal attacks will not be tolerated by any means. Occasionally discussions may get heated, but please remain professional.
No derogatory language is permitted... Please keep language from extending itself into certain unnecessary forms. All are welcome here and offensive language is not permitted.
Other than that, this is a completely open forum and the point of it is for us to learn form one another and have fun doing it, as well as solidify a working on-line community for the chapter.
Calendar:Check out the calendar function too if your in need of something to do. As a member you are also encouraged to place your own events, or events that you know of on the calendar. Simply click on the day, and enter the information.
Notification: You can also choose to be notified through your e-mail when certain threads are responded to. Simply click the bookmark thread button on the upper tight portion of the thread screen, and modify your notification preferences.
Message System:There is also an integrated message system within this forum where members can send and reply to personal, or private messages from one another. When you log in, the top right corner of the screen will show you how many messages you have. If you ever have a problem or concerns please send a forum e-mail to the moderator or an actual e-mail to cmc75@dana.ucc.nau.edu
See you on the forum!

P.S. It is also important to note that if you have trouble logging in it is probably bcause your computer is not accepting cookies. In order to login properly you must have cookies enabled to at least some degree. Also, if you are logging in fine but get kicked off as soon as you try to post, you will have to hit the login button on the toolbar..... sign in like normal but choose the Forever option when it asks you how long you wish to be logged in for. This should fix the problem.
